The Beginning of our Journey

We, Sweetie (husband of almost 30 years) and myself, along with Parley (15 y/o Bengal cat) and Belle (3 y/o red merle Aussie) started our journey back to Mississippi after being “Bugged Out” in 2016 for the second time from Flagg Ranch, Moran, WY by the The Berry Fire in the Grand Teton National Park outside the south entrance to Yellowstone National Park, WY.

I had completed my training as a Certified Le Cordon Bleu Chef and Sweetie as a grounds keeper.

We had previously purchased 7.3 acres in Vancleave, MS while I was stationed at the Mathies USAF NCO Academy, Keesler AFB, MS. Upon our returned we discovered that the renter had turned into a squatter who had turned into a looter and the main house was no longer livable. The looters had sold the metal roof, striped all the copper, stole the well-head, and the meter box for the electric. The land was very over grown.

This is the story of how we came to build Mississippi Kiwi.
